Dog and Puppy availability?

We make it our life's passion to learn about the history of the Shar Pei, and their determinants of health and genetics to improve and advance the breed.

All dog breeders should be using appropriate ethical breeder principles promoting values such as trust, good behaviour, fairness and kindness toward other breeders. So, please do not ask us:

  • about other breeders
  • other breeders dogs
  • to discuss issues you may have with other breeders
  • or who would we or would we not recommend as a breeder.

We are not in the ‘business’ of breeding.  When we do breed we do so for a ‘reason and purpose’.  We enjoy ‘showing’ – it is rewarding, fun and is a great day out for us and our dogs.

However, as an interested breeder we are careful in the selection of our breeding stock.  We will breed only the best to the best for the sake of our reputation and for the improvement of the Shar Pei as a breed.

As guardians of our wonderful breed we continually strive to improve our breeding program and ensuring that the Shar Pei we produce conform to the specifics of the standardized breed. Breed standards define the breed and provide goals as a breeder in improving our stock.  Guidelines describe the ideal characteristics, temperament, and appearance of the Shar Pei breed and ensures that the breed is fit for function with soundness essential.

To enhance our breeding program we are committed to developing a sound, working knowledge in planning and establishing our breeding stock.  By enhancing our breeding program we know that we will be strengthening and improving the Shar Pei as a breed.

Dog and Puppy availability:

Before getting a puppy or a dog it is important that you spend time researching this breed to ensure that you consider what breed of dog will suit your family.

The Shar Pei is a wonderful breed, but It is important to consider what is involved in being a responsible owner and whether you can meet all your dog's needs throughout their life-time.

Some points to consider are:

  • Are you ready to make a long-time commitment? Can you still care for your dog in 10-15 years time?
  • Is your home safe, secure and suitable for a dog?
  • Do you have the time to give your dog daily attention? Are you able to provide food and water, training and socialising, walking and playing?
  • What will happen toyour dog when you go on holidays?
  • Are you able to cover the financial costs of dog ownership? Consider the cost of food, bedding, toys, flea and worm treatments, vaccinations, pet insurance and veterinary check-ups or any unexpected veterinary bills.

If you are ready to welcome a Shar Pei into your family or you would like to know more about the breed, give us a call.

Yes, we will consider dog and puppy enquiries from outside of Australia.  We already have wonderful family homes for our Shar Pei in Hong Kong, New Zealand and South Africa.
