We have and show both the horse-coat and brush-coat Shar Pei.  Our first showing was in Mackay September 2005.

While we live in regional North Queensland, for us to pursue and promote our passion and love of dogs and conformation showing we must travel.

The one and only time we did fly our dogs was to Perth.  Including required drop-off times, connecting flights from Mackay to Brisbane, with a stop-over, then flights from Brisbane to Perth, the dogs were in transit for approximately 11 hours.  As our dogs are not frequent flyers they did not cope well with the long journey hence we travel to all our shows by road.

Places we have travelled to include:

Western Australia - Perth and Albany;

New South Wales – Uralla, Gunnedah and Grafton;

Victoria – KCC Park, Lancefield and Kyneton;

Queensland - (from top to bottom) Mareeba, Cairns, Tully, Innisfail, Ingham, Townsville, Charters Towers, Proserpine, Mackay, Pioneer Valley, Clermont, Sarina, The Caves, Rockhampton, Bouldercombe, Emerald, Gladstone, Monto, Eidsvold, Bundaberg, Gin Gin, Eidsvold, Mundubbera, Maryborough, Wondai, Kingaroy, Beewah, Caboolture, Durack, Marburg, Toowoomba, Mt. Gravatt, Laidley, Milmerren.

Just to give you an idea of distances from our home, Mackay (one way):

Mareeba (Far North Queensland) is 770kms

Durack, Brisbane (South East Queensland) is 993kms

Uralla (New South Wales) is 1345kms

KCC Park, Syke (Victoria) is 2395kms

Perth (Western Australia) is 4798kms

Other disciplines our Shar Pei have enjoyed are Obedience and Agility. Geronymo really enjoyed these.  He attained his Level 5 at obedience and off-lead for agility.  Geronymo loved the tunnels and looking back now it was rather amusing remembering him double-back or take a short-cut just so that he could go through the tunnels again.

A bitch that Geronymo sired (sister to Lola, Po and Ryno) is an Obedience Instructor's training dog and is very successful in this discipline.

We are not in the ‘business’ of breeding.  When we do breed we do so for a ‘reason and purpose’.  We enjoy ‘showing’ – it is rewarding, fun and is a great day out for us and our dogs.

However, as an interested breeder we are careful in the selection of our breeding stock.  We will breed only the best to the best for the sake of our reputation and for the improvement of the Shar Pei as a breed.

As guardians of our wonderful breed we continually strive to improve our breeding program and ensuring that the Shar Pei we produce conform to the specifics of the standardized breed. Breed standards define the breed and provide goals as a breeder in improving our stock.  Guidelines describe the ideal characteristics, temperament, and appearance of the Shar Pei breed and ensures that the breed is fit for function with soundness essential.

To enhance our breeding program we are committed to developing a sound, working knowledge in planning and establishing our breeding stock.  By enhancing our breeding program we know that we will be strengthening and improving the Shar Pei as a breed.

The Shar Pei is our perfect companion who gives loyalty, friendship, love and devotion
